Litany of the Saints
This is the oldest litany continually in use. It was used, if not by Pope Liberius, certainly by St. Gregory the Great († 604) in the “Litania Septiformis” at Rome. This litany forms one of our oldest liturgical offices in the West, and is the model for all others. It was used during the Rogation Days processions and at the Easter Vigil, as well as at the administration of certain sacraments like Baptism and Ordination.
When you use this litany you may add your favourite or patron saints to it. I Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Christ hear us.
