Lent and Passiontide

26 February - Ash Wednesday
  • 9:00am Thomas Whitehead Worship
  • 9:30am Mass with imposition of ashes, at St Thomas' Lowry Drive
  • 7:30pm Sung Mass with imposition of ashes, at All Saints'
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. It is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting which prepares us for Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday, through which we attain redemption.

LENT COURSE - 2 March to 6 April - Monday Evenings
  • 6:30pm Said Mass, at St Thomas' Lowry Drive
  • 7:00pm Lent Course
Our Lent Course will look at the Letter to the Hebrews.

22 March - Mothering Sunday
  • 10:00am Parish Mass
At this Mass mothers will be presented with flower posies and a special Blessing.
Confessions
Be reconciled with God!

A priest is available on Saturday mornings at All Saints' during Vestry Hour (10:00 to 11:30) to hear confessions.


Holy Week and Easter Triduum

5 April - Palm Sunday
  • 10:00am Procession of Palms and Mass
The service includes the blessing of palm crosses, procession to All Saints' Church, and the reading of the Passion according to St Matthew. Please, gather in Bedford Square from 9:50am.

6 April
  • 6:30pm Said Mass and Lent Course at St Thomas' Lowry Drive.

7 and 8 April
  • 7:00pm Said Mass with a devotional talk.

9 April - Maundy Thursday
  • 8:00pm Sung Mass of the Lord' Supper and Watch
First day of the Easter Triduum, remembering the Lord's Last Supper with his disciples.
This Mass is followed by a silent vigil (or watch) before the Blessed Sacrament until Midnight.


10 April - Good Friday
  • 11:00am Family Service
A service organised especially for young families and children.
This is followed by refreshments and children's craft in preparation of Easter Day.
  • 3:00pm Good Friday Liturgy
Solemn service remembering the Lord's death on Calvary. Today's liturgy includes the reading of the Passion according to St John, the Veneration of the Cross, and distribution of Holy Communion.

11 April - Holy Saturday
  • 8:00pm Easter Vigil
Third day of the Easter Triduum. This is the most important service of the Christian year, celebrating the resurrection of the Lord Jesus from the grave. This service features the renewal of Baptismal commitments and the first Mass of Easter.

12 April - Easter Day
  • 8:30am Said Mass
  • 10:00am Parish Mass
The Parish Mass is followed by the children's Easter egg hunt around the church and churchyard.
